Mr. Thomas has over 25 years of professional experience in environmental engineering. This experience includes feasibility studies, hazardous waste site evaluations and remediation, air quality engineering and selection/design of air emissions control systems, air quality modelling and permitting, sanitary and secure landfill design, water and wastewater treatment plant design, traffic studies, hydrogeological investigations and preparation of Environmental Impact Reports.
Renewable Energy Experience
Mr. Thomas has professional experience in over 15 years of renewable energy development. His renewable energy experience includes wind resource evaluation and micro-siting, financial analyses, site design, visual impact assessment, environmental site assessments, permitting documents, public presentations, and preparation of wind turbine construction plans. Mr. Thomas is actively involved in the assessment and development/permitting phases of numerous wind turbine projects throughout New England.
Key aspects of project responsibilities range from initial feasibility investigations to construction planning, and include: wind resource evaluations, site specific turbine evaluation and selection, turbine siting, energy production modeling, FAA Determinations of Hazard filings, regulatory and permitting reviews, balloon tests, wind turbine photosimulations, turbine project cost estimations, project economic analysis and financial paybacks/rates of return. Wind project responsibilities further include turbine delivery routing reviews, shadow flicker studies, noise impact assessments, public participation and community outreach programs, project funding and financing assistance, and coordination of grid interconnection studies/Power Purchase Assessments.
Mr. Thomas has over twenty five years of professional experience in environmental and civil engineering. He has extensive experience in site development, hydraulics, hydrology, site grading and drainage, roadway design, dam inspections, traffic engineering, environmental assessment, permitting, and cost estimation.
