Edmund Freeman Community Solar

A 1.5MW Solar Project for NRG Energy in Sandwich, MA

This 1.5MW solar development was tasked with extremely complex permitting requirements as the project is sited on Cape Cod and within two historic districts. Using 3D modeling software and solar array photo-simulations, the project remains well hidden from sensitive areas/sight lines. The project now operates as a community solar project serving the Town of Sandwich community.

Array Summary:

Rated Output (DC) 1,499 kW
Rated Output (AC) 1,152 kW
Module Count 4,284 Panels
Classification Community Solar

Cohasset Landfill Solar Project

532 kW array in Cohasset, MA

This large scale project required preparation of a Post Closure Use Application submitted to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for a major modification to a closed landfill. The complex nature of the project required full construction design including completion of thorough geotechnical stability, settlement and slope analyses during the permitting phase.

Project Details:

Peak Power (DC) 514 kW
Peak Power (AC) 420 kW
Invterter Make SolarEdge
Inverter Size 20kW String

CCA Freetown Solar

A 560kW Solar Project in Freetown, MA

This 560kW ground mounted project is located on an active rock crushing facility where soiling would generally reduce system efficiency. Atlantic completed permitting, site design, construction stakeout and implemented the use of a proprietary self-cleaning titanium oxide treatment on the surface of the modules to counteract site conditions, effectively reducing soiling impacts.

Array Summary:

Peak Power (DC) 514 kW
Peak Power (AC) 420 kW
Invterter Make SolarEdge
Inverter Size 20kW String

Redbrook Solar Due Diligence

A 650kW Solar Project in Plymouth, MA

A due diligence engineering review was completed on behalf of a financial lending institution for this 650kW ground mounted project. An engineering review and project evaluation was presented throughout a 14-page narrative and associated supporting documentation. Additionally, Atlantic provided a project valuation assessment in support of the lending process

Inverter Size SGI 500 KW
System AC Output 500 kW

Mann Farms Solar Project

A 70kW Solar Project in Bourne, MA

This 70kW ground mounted array was a great opportunity as it was the first project where permitting and interconnection design resulted in executing an in-house engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement. Work involved subcontracting site work, electrical work as well as securing rights to Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SREC II) and net metering eligibility.

Array Summary

Module Count 210 Panels

Inverter Make SolarEdge 14kW
Invterter Count 7 Inverters
Rated AC Output 53.3 kW

15 Research Road Rooftop

A 120kW Rooftop Solar Project in Falmouth, MA

Work completed for this 120kW roof mounted project included layout design, utility interconnection application and owner consulting regarding procurement, installation and state incentive filings. Mr. Thomas acted as both project manager and owners representative resulting in a per-watt project cost competitive with a megawatt scale facility.

Greenwood Meadows Solar Project

A 4MW facility installed in Sandwich, MA.

Atlantic performed survey and engineering services for the design and permitting of a 4.0 MW solar panel array located on a 63 acre parcel of land in Sandwich, MA. After the Town of Sandwich passed a bylaw allowing, by special permit, large scale ground mounted solar photovoltaic installations, the developers of the Greenwood Meadows residential community proceeded with the 16 acre solar field project in conjunction with S+C Electric of Chicago.

As a key member of the project's permitting team, Atlantic assisted in obtaining approvals from the Cape Cod Commission, Sandwich Planning Board, FAA, MA Dept. of Fish and Game as well as the Mass. Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.

Atlantic's design services consisted of preparation of site plans, stormwater and erosion control design, site grading and balance of earthwork activities and delivery/maintenance access road design. During construction, Atlantic provided construction inspection services as well as detailed survey stakeout, ranging from pile locations to grading cuts and fills.

Fog Island Cafe Solar Project

30kW Solar Project in Nantucket, MA

This project is one of the largest solar installations to date on the island of Nantucket. Work included local permitting, system design, survey, and construction stakeout services as well as incentive filings with the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and net metering assurance.
