Roof or ground mounted projects ranging from 25kW to 250kW
Atlantic Design Engineers, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm providing professional services in the civil/environmental engineering and renewable energy sectors throughout New England since 1987. Our roots in renewable extend beyond civil design and permitting services. Atlantic provides renewable energy consulting for state and federal incentives, utility interconnection, procurements and due diligence reviews for lending corporations.
Atlantic provides a wide variety of services associated with photovoltaic system design, utility interconnection, local and state level permitting, land surveying, construction design and general consulting for state and federal incentive qualification.
Use of our in-house proprietary wind mapping software, GIS capabilities, CADD systems and WindPRO software allow us to complete comprehensive engineering assessments and technical drawings in accordance with the accelerated program schedules of the wind generation industry.
Over 100 megawatts of projects throughout Massachusetts
A detailled pre-development review for large scale solar development for use in determining interconnection and permitting feasibility. See our SSA Process
Using in-house GIS software Atlantic can provide timely and accurate conceptual designs for both ground and roof mounted projects.
Whether required from a lending institution or for determining project viability, accurate estimates are a crucial aspect of solar development.
Atlantic can provide all required documentation, including an electrical one-line and site plan, for interconnection to both Eversource and National Grid territories.
Incentives are constantly changing in New England. Atlantic is here to make sure your project meets necessary deadlines for qualification.
Atlantic provides Photosimulations of your project from surrounding residential or commercial areas around your project.
Our in-house survey crews and state-of-the-art GIS/AutoCAD systems allow for efficient yet detailed permit level design for all project sizes. See our Civil Engineering Services
Detailed reviews are generally required by lending institutions for any proposed project as part of the lending process. Atlantic provides ProFormas, production estimates, and project evaluations.
Construction services include CCAs, survey stakeout, construction inspections and more. See our Civil Engineering Services for more details

Utility Scale Wind Projects
Atlantic can prescreen project viability for potential permitting or development limitations. Our feasibility studies include in-depth energy analyses to determine energy production and available incentives for wind development in the area. See Atlantic's feasibility process for solar development
Our photosimulation modeling includes detailed specifications such as a wind turbine make and model as well as proposed height, blade length and nacelle dimensions. Using WindPro Software, developed by EMD International, we can also calculate the experienced shadow flicker for any nearby receptors such as a a window, patio or back yard.
Once conceptual site and wind contour modeling has been completed, a more precise process known as micro-siting helps maximize efficiency and mitigate environmental impacts. Through analyses of available meteorological tower records Atlantic extrapolates specific data to estimate wind conditions at various potential siting locations.
Wind development can be both controversial and complex in the New England area. However, with proper mitigation and siting, large scale wind projects are still feasible in New England.
To date we have been involved in the siting analysis, permitting and design of over 50 wind turbine project sites throughout New England. Atlantic has the unique skills for effective wind turbine project assessment, permitting and construction.
Our staff of professionals and support personnel, including civil and environmental engineers, environmental scientists, wind energy scientists and land surveyors, allow us to provide in house capabilities for the full range of services required for our wind project clients.
