This large scale project required preparation of a Post Closure Use Application submitted to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for a major modification to a closed landfill. The complex nature of the project required full construction design including completion of thorough geotechnical stability, settlement and slope analyses during the permitting phase.

Project Details:

Atlantic provided regulatory support in response to the release of diesel fuel from “Shark Bite” (a ‘Vessel') in the vicinity of the Lobsterville Beach Jetty in Aquinnah, MA resulting from the sea vessel catching on fire.

Response actions were managed by multiple parties, including Aquinnah Conservation, the Coast Guard and Tow Boat USA and included the removal of the Vessel as well as the deployment and disposal of absorbent booms. Atlantic’s responsibilities included MassDEP notification filing, completion of an immediate response action (IRA) statement and a permanent solution filing.

Work performed included wind resource evaluation, turbine selection and siting, energy and financial modeling, wetlands/Natural Heritage impacts review and FAA/MAC filings and approvals. Atlantic also completed project permitting documents and impact assessments.

Atlantic completed construction drawings for the building permit issued by the Town of Plymouth for the turbine installation and provided Controlled Construction Affidavit (CCA) Services during site construction and turbine erection.

Various expansion projects have included drainage and access road modifications, commercial additions including Macy's and Target, as well as consulting and design work for the new Regal Cinemas movie theaters.

Currently the mall is home to an extensive selection of traditional retail and entertainment complexes including PiNZ, Bar Rustic, The Studio Kitchen, Waxy’s Modern Irish Bar + Kitchen, Wayback Burgers, Sky Zone, K1 Speed, Macy’s, Target, and Regal Cinemas and national brands within specialty boutiques.

This 560kW ground mounted project is located on an active rock crushing facility where soiling would generally reduce system efficiency. Atlantic completed permitting, site design, construction stakeout and implemented the use of a proprietary self-cleaning titanium oxide treatment on the surface of the modules to counteract site conditions, effectively reducing soiling impacts.

A due diligence engineering review was completed on behalf of a financial lending institution for this 650kW ground mounted project. An engineering review and project evaluation was presented throughout a 14-page narrative and associated supporting documentation. Additionally, Atlantic provided a project valuation assessment in support of the lending process
